Help! My window is off the screen!

I was helping someone today whose application window was opening up on another screen - except the screen wasn't there. So she had no way to use the application.

If you find yourself with the same problem, here are two ways of fixing it.

If the application's icon is visible in the taskbar, it's easier to do:
1. Right-click the application's icon in the task bar.
2. If the "Move" menu item is grayed out, select the "Restore" menu item.
3. Right-click the application's icon in the task bar again, and select "Move".
4. Press any of the arrow keys.
5. Move your mouse. The application will jump to your mouse's location, so you can return the window to one of your active screens.

If you have your taskbar stretched across multiple screens and can't see the application's icon, there's still hope:
1. Make the application active by pressing Alt+Tab until it highlights that application.
2. Press Alt+Spacebar to open the Command Menu at the upper left corner of the window. This is the same menu that appears if you right-click it from the taskbar. Note: you won't be able to see the menu, because it's on another screen. Trust me - it's there...
3. Press the down-arrow once. This highlights the "Move" menu item
4. Press the "Enter" key.
5. Press any arrow key.
6. Move your mouse and the application should jump to your mouse's location. Your are back in business! If you still don't see your screen, then the window was probably maximized, and you can't move it.
7. Press Alt+Spacebar again.
8. Press the "Enter" key. This selects the "Restore" option from the Command Menu.
9. If you still can't see the window, go back to Step 2 and you should see results this time.

I hope this saves someone some time!
